The Free Syrian Army announced a attack on a military base in rif Hama, according to reports from the opposition more than one brigade participates in the battle.
The fighters were heavily armed, they managed to shell the base and keep pressure on it by blocking every side of the base. Reports also mentioned that tanks that were captured earlier were used by insurgents in particular Jabhat al-Islamiyya brigade.
Later reports have said that the insurgents managed to take over 2 checkpoints in Jedideh & Shayzar.
According to opposition reports this was a large scale attack combining different rebel and more extreme groups in order to take over Hama completely from the Syrian Army.
This comes after which claim the number of European residents who have entered into operations against the Syrian government inside the country has risen in the past six months.
