This music video was directed by Rob Dickins - he also gets a mention in the lyrics "We can steer, we can near, with Rob Dickins at the wheel" in Enya's famous 1988 single Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) ⛵️ Also, in this song Enya sings 'turn it up, up, adieu' referring to that 😁
Rob Dickins signed Enya to Warner Music in the late 1980s, supposedly out of his admiration of the music rather than making money; he has worked closely with Enya, supporting the trio in the recording studio. 🎶✨️
• Some of the train scenes can also be found in this advert for Cadbury's chocolate, 1990😅🍫 youtu.be/y16fCdIwZjM
• The Apple iPhone ringtone 'Waves' 🌊 sounds like it fits with On My Way Home, or at least it has the same chord progression and key signature as the chorus does, haha.
• Enya's costume is similar to those that the ladies in Boney M wear, particularly Marcia Barrett on the right, in the 1978 video for Mary's Boy Child, here [ Ссылка ] 😇🎶
• The scenes of the little girls hanging the lanterns among the flower bushes takes inspiration from the painting Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose by the American painter John Singer Sargent, between 1885-86.
💐🌹🏮✨
It may or may not be intentional, but the little girls in the video sort of resemble Enya and her sisters, perhaps with a different age order. The girl in the white outfit seems to represent a younger Enya, and the girl with the lighter hair looks quite like her sister Deirdre. As well as relaxing, sharing fun times with sisters (and brothers) is a great part of coming back home 🤗🎉
I also think that one (or maybe both) of Nicky and Roma Ryan's daughters appear in this video (and for The Celts). 😃💡
My guess has changed 😅 but I saw a picture of Persia Ryan c.2008, and I think that the girl at 3:04 might've been her. She would have been 12-13 at the time, and is also one of Enya's goddaughters 🤗
There seems to be many similarities to other songs just from this video, but it is still very much one of Enya's own joyful songs 🥰🎵
It is one of the most optimistic songs on Enya's 1995 album The Memory of Trees too.
Despite the hardships of the past year, and any that we face in life, maintaining hope for better times ahead is a truly awesome thing. 😌🌠
Thank you for the many likes and revisits 😊
I hope you continue to enjoy the video! 🌟
