41 breeds of cats in the world's most famous arena.
The Cat Fancier's Association show kicks off this week at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Everything from furry Persians to hairless Sphinxes. The top cat in each breed earns a ribbon and competes for best in show.
SOT: PAM DELABAR, Cat Fancier's Assoc. President
"It's a beauty contest, after all, and you want to present the cat to it's, just it's max. The way that it looks the best. And when that judge turns around, their eye definitely goes to your cat because it's presented so beautifully."
No lack of feline self confidence here:
SOT: HELENE SCHNEIDER-HESTER, Cat Owner
"He thinks he's the best and he is, he really is. He thinks he's the best above his brothers and sisters, okay? And the only one he looks up to is his father. "Another thing is, he'll give you a guilt trip in two second flat if he doesn't get what he wants. Russians are very smart, exceptionally smart," she added.
One of the highlights of the show is the Feline Agility Competition, where cats are coaxed and cajoled over jumps and through tunnels.
Hundreds of cats seeking adoption will also be on hand on Friday and Saturday, hoping for a home instead of a cage.
