On the 22nd January 1901 inside of Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, Queen Victoria who was at the time the longest ruling monarch in British history died. She was surrounded by many members of her family, who remained in disbelief and they could not accept that the Queen was dead. Victoria had ruled since June 1837, and she was a woman who oversaw a huge amount of change throughout her reign for example the Industrial Revolution changed Britain forever. But Victoria’s lengthy reign caused a huge number of problems when it came to the funeral of Queen Victoria and what happened after her death. It could be descried as chaos and there were some elements of the planning that were rather laughable and disgraceful. But why did Queen Victoria’s funeral go so terribly wrong?
