Our first stop is the EZ Lazy Loop Trail, a perfect warmup to get those adrenaline levels rising. Nestled within the breathtaking red rock canyons, this trail offers a taste of the Moab mountain biking experience without overwhelming beginners. But don't be fooled by its name. There are still plenty of technical sections and exciting twists and turns to keep riders on all levels engaged. The EZ Trail Moab is part of the Moab Brand trails, located 11 miles north of Moab on Highway 191. The trail spans approximately 3.5 miles, with an elevation gain of 181ft. This is a great beginner to intermediate trail that's family-friendly and great for first-time bikers. It even has a little mini practice track for the kids to ride on, complete with little jumps and obstacles. This route can be hazardous in the summer months, June through September, due to the high heat and lack of shade. Riding very early in the morning is best to avoid the dangerous heat. Always bring lots of water, food, sunscreen, carry a map and understand your exits. Traveling southbound from the trailhead. Stay on the easy trail until you come to the Lazy Trail, and then take a ride. July through September is the monsoon season here, so it can get rainy and muddy. So be aware of that before you come. We got a late start today and it's really hot and miserable. So again, get here early if you can. Make sure you stay to the right to continue on the easy trail. It's very bumpy, and there's a lot of loose rock, so be careful. This trail offers a variety of terrain, including slickrock sections, technical rock obstacles, and some challenging switchbacks. Expect some rock shelves from 2” to 10” in height that some beginners might need to dismount to negotiate. The trail continues with a moderate climb and some fun switchbacks. As we reach the halfway point. The trail continues around the ridge with just enough rocks and tight turns to keep it interesting. From there, it's one more mile downhill, overflowing dirt track and through banked turns to the northern junction with the easy Trail. Take a left at the intersection and continue on the ride's second part, the Lazy Trail. This section is a bit more hilly and challenging. There are 30 different trails in the Moab brand trail system, and there are various difficulties, beginner, intermediate, and advanced, with slickrock trails and blazing singletrack loops. They have it all here. There are also a few bailout points where you can turn off and cut the ride short. If you're feeling a little hot or fatigued. The heat here can be overwhelming, so be cautious and know your exit points. This is a great intro ride because the views are amazing, and it will help you practice for the more advanced trails here in Moab. So, if you want a scenic bike ride in Moab without the added challenge of more advanced trails, this is an excellent introduction to the beauty of Moab. We hope you enjoyed our video about the EZ Lazy trail. Watch the next episode, where we explore another Moab biking trail, Dead Horse Point, which has many beginner to intermediate trails with amazing views.
