In this video we visit a well hidden, magical wild swimming spot in the Blue Mountains called Shaws Creek Pool, a short walk, that starts easy, but gets very steep and slippery, but the walk is very much worth it!
This walk starts at the end of Booker Rd at Hawkesbury Heights in the lower Blue Mountains, it starts off with an easy walk to a couple of stunning rocky vantage points that give views over Shaws Creek below and Sydney in the distance. From here, it gets way steeper, still well defined, but not suitable for everyone perhaps.
It does not take too long to get down to the pool, and it is big, deep and on the day we were there, crystal clear, just stunning!
We went for an explore upstream at some of the other small cascades on the creek and some of the other shallow pools, but this is the main attraction for sure.
As always, with any wild swimming spot, check the depth of the water and for any underwater snags or trees, never jump into a pool like this without checking it first.
This place is pristine! Keep it that way, no dogs, it is a national park, take your rubbish with you, leave it pristine so others can experience it in the same state.
