In this video I show you one of many ways you can make a Blacksmith's Guillotine tool for your anvil. Below I will give a list of materials I used. I got this idea from the book The Backyard Blacksmith written by Lorelei Sims although I did make some changes to it to suit me better. Materials:
One 7"x4"x1/2" plate mild steel (bottom plate)
One 5"x4"x1/2" plate mild steel (top dye)
One 2"x4"x1/2" plate mild steel (bottom dye)
One 2"x3"x1/2" plate mild steel (striking plate)
Two 5/8"x2 7/8" round stock (preferred high carbon steel)
Four 1/4"x1 1/2" angle iron cut 7" long
One 1" solid square stock cut to preferred length for you Hardy hole
