The first in what I hope to be a series of videos conveying what I learn about the openings I study. I selected the Scheveningen variation of the Sicilian largely because of what GM Kotov had to say about his reasons for selecting it in his book "Think Like a Grandmaster". It seems its more important to master the "strategic complexities" of the opening rather than sharp and long variations. I forgot to mention that black in this opening develops while preparing to do a queen-side attack.
