Filipino maid who works in Singapore shares how she copes with the hardships of living far from family and loved ones.
A lot of women from the Philippines travel far from home to work in foreign countries and support their families. They live with their employers and work everyday to do domestic duties such as cleaning, cooking and taking care of young children and the elderly. Clara, is one of such resilient Filipino maids working in Singapore.
She experienced some horrific situations before finding the loving family she is part of now. Despite this, she views her life as a sacrifice in the name of her daughters. She dreams of the day she will have enough money to finish the house she is building with her husband, and go back to the Philippines to open a small restaurant.
