A long and strategically challenging finishing hole. This hole is representative of the front nine with water, trees, bunkers and ground contours all offering great strategic interest. A large tier dominates the 1st landing area – choose the high side to afford a better opportunity to attack the 2nd landing area or even green complex on your next shot. A tee shot played to the low side could leave you potentially stymied behind a tree and certainly without any view. For the second shot, stay as close to the water as possible to best attack the green - which is much more receptive from the right side of the fairway. Golfers choosing to play away from the water will be left with a testing shot to the green over a large fairway bunker and some severe ground contours.
Ground contours are a very important component in golf and the tier on Hole 9 is one example of how the ground can add both strategic and visual value. Expect to see more of this on the back nine.
