Hello friends! We made one of my favourite Cantonese desserts in our 3 cup rice cooker today. 蕃薯糖水 (Sweet potato in sugar water)
My Mother in law tells me this is not only delicious but it also helps soothes daytime coughs. Since the weather is cold, this yummy soup dessert warms our bodies.
Hope you will give it a try, it is easy as can be in the rice cooker. And only requires a few ingredients. Please use the orange sweet potato variety if you have it. I use all sorts of sweet potatoes, as I love all varieties.

Cantonese Sweet Potato Soup Dessert 蕃薯糖水
Serves 3:
50g golden slab sugar
500g sweet potatoes (peeled, though I like the leaving it)
slab of ginger; optional
2 cups of water
add sliced sweet potatoes and rest of ingredients into the rice pot. Use the "white rice" button for one cycle and the sweet potatoes should be cooked.
