Eskom CEO André de Ruyter on Wednesday announced that stage 2 load shedding would be implemented from 14:00.
The load shedding was necessitated by further breakdowns, and a worsening situation while the media briefing was on-going.
The load shedding is due "to the ongoing insufficient generation capacity and the loss of a unit each at Medupi, Duvha and Kendal power stations this morning", Eskom said. It will end at 05:00 on Saturday
