Facing Omega Weapon, the second and strongest superboss in Final Fantasy VIII, with an over-leveled party (not the best course of action, given the game's proportional leveling system).
The trick to survive Omega's attacks is to take notice of its attack pattern:
-Omega opens the fight with LVL 5 Death, which can be countered by junctioning Death to Status Def
-Meteor deals various damage to all party
-Megido Flame will inflict 9998 fixed damage to the whole party. It's not a "reduce HP down to 1" attack, it will kill you if your HPs are lower than that! That's why having the HP cap for every character is mandatory to survive this attack
-Gravija inflicts 3/4 of each character's HP, but it won't kill them
-Terra Break deals multiple high damage to the whole party, so don't expect to survive it unless you cast Break, Defend or an invincibility effect to reduce damage to 0
-Light Pillar deals 9999 fixed damage to a single target. After this attack, Omega's attack pattern will restart from Meteor
-random physical attacks
Some preparation tips for the fight:
-Give the Item command to every character, as you'll need Heroes, Holy Wars, Phoenix Downs and Megaelixirs to survive Omega's attacks
-You can use the Card Mod ability to obtain some key items for fighting Omega
-If you have the Laguna card, you'll get 100 Heroes (gives invincibility to a single target for a few turns)
-If you have the Gilgamesh card, you'll get 10 Holy Wars (it's like Hero, but it targets the whole party)
-If you have the Bahamut card, you'll get 100 Megaelixirs (fully restore the HP of the whole party)
-Give the Defend command to characters, so that they can survive Terra Break
