The Renaissance Faire creates "living history" of late 1500s Elizabethan England. The family friendly annual event allows patrons to step into a flourishing time in history through experiences authentic to the time period. Attending the faire is like stepping into a time portal and walking into an actual 16th century town. Nearly everyone is dressed in period appropriate garb, and actors even speak as one would according to their class in that time in England. Even the dusty road and lake contributes to the authentic feeling of a seaside English town. The Faire celebrates the arrival of Queen Elizabeth with plenty of performances and activities around every corner. Patrons can walk around, enjoy art as music fills the air, stop by the many booths where merchants sell unique items such as jewelry, pottery, incense, and costumes, and even enjoy period appropriate food. Time seems to stop in the world outside the faire. Everyone there is in the spirit which only enhances the experience in a community where you are sure to feel welcome and united. From activities like archery and fencing, to events like the royal joust, there is so much to see and experience at the Renaissance Faire.
"The Renaissance, to be "reborn", a time when individuals celebrated the awakening of a new idea, when light was let into darkness. The Renaissance Pleasure Faire celebrates the "spirit" of this period of history ~ where people have the willingness to try anything and everything."
