The Sony Bravia XR A80J is one of the best OLED TVs on the market. It runs on Google TV, which aggregates streaming services, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ and HBO Max.
The speakers on the A80J are 30W and they're fine, but I preferred using a soundbar and subwoofer. I’m able to control the soundbar using the TV remote because I hooked it up to the HDMI.
There are 4 HDMI ports on the back and 2 of them support HDMI 2.1.
With an OLED, each pixel on the screen can be turned on and off. So there’s no blooming in dark scenes. The A80J supports HDR and Dolby Vision, so your picture is going to look much more lifelike.
The A80J has the “Cognitive Processor XR.” Sony says this processor actually understands how people see and hear, and helps create a more immersive experience.
For TV antenna fans, the 80J also has an ATSC 3.0 tuner, also known as NextGenTV. This new broadcast standard is rolling out across the U.S. and supports 4K picture resolution, Dolby Atmos and a number of other features for local over-the-air broadcast channels.
