Trascript:
hey everyone its Nathan from Co schedule
and I wanted to talk to you guys about
setting smart marketing goals today now
the definition of a barcoding goal is
that it is specific measurable
aspirational realistic and time-bound
it's a time bound metric that helps
drive every single marketing effort now
if you're wondering what that might look
like if you were to write down your
goals it would look something like this
example by December 31st 2018 the co
schedule marketing team will reach 6000
marketing qualified leads every single
month right we can see that it's very
specific measurable aspirational
realistic and time-bound so smart right
this is really important to your success
because we know that marketers who set
goals are 429 percent more likely to
report success than those marketers who
don't that's insane right so if you want
to be four times as successful as your
peers come up with goals and then this
couples with it really well because a
common mistake that I see along the way
is that people don't write these down
right we have marketers who have these
metrics we're shooting for their
aspirational and they're all the right
things but we don't write them down
write them down
post them somewhere where you're gonna
see them every single day and make them
a reality so something else just a
unique perspective on this topic of
marketing goals is that I would like you
to amortize that goal across your time
bound deadline so for example if last
month I got 600 or so marketing
qualified leads I'm not going to get to
6,000 next month so what you need to do
is amortize that goal out a month over
month over month an increase gradually
toward that end goal of 6,000 marketing
qualified leads as that example was so
if you're wondering what you should do
next I definitely suggest that you read
the chapter at Coe schedule comm slash
marketing strategy and download the
template that helps you implement this
advice really easily there is an
algorithm in a spreadsheet that will
help you amortize this out really
efficiently so go download that template
again it's at Coe schedule comm slash
marketing - strategy I will see you
there
