Scaffolding is a teaching technique that provides temporary support to help students learn a concept until help is no longer needed. Scaffolding, also known as modeling or coaching, can take many forms such as presenting examples, giving explanations, and using advance organizers, all which gain from students’ existing knowledge of the material.
