Don Upatissa Gamanayake (1948–1989), also known as Dias Mudalali, was a prominent Sri Lankan politician and the deputy leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) during the 1987–1989 insurrection. Initially a lesser-known figure during the JVP's 1971 uprising, he rose to prominence after 1977. Gamanayake quickly ascended the party ranks, becoming second-in-command after founder Rohana Wijeweera. Despite contesting the 1983 Anamaduwa by-election, he was captured by government forces in November 1989.
