Another example I've filmed of a spectacular '55 Chevy an iconic symbol of the famous Tri - Five Chevrolets, 1955 - 1957. The new '55 Chevy is lower, wider, longer, and radically changed from it's predecessor models that were somewhat " stodgy ". Finally, Chevy had a V8 engine option and this engine had 265 Turbo-Fire cubes with dual exhaust and 162 - 170 - 180 horsepowers. The straight six was a left over stovebolt with 235 cubes and 123 - 136 horses. This new style of Chevy was named the " Motoramic " and a feature called " Sweep Sight " windshield and rakish beltline dip. Other features shown on this Bel Air is the " eggcrate " type grille that was shared by Cadillac, twin cove dashboard design that held a central glovebox, all vinyl two - tone interior, belt line dip with minimum chrome along the sides, chrome tipped exhaust ports, and a continental kit. A Bel Air convertible like this would sell for $ 2,2200 and this is one of 41,292 units. Bel Air models came in 2 and 4 door sedans, a Beauville 4 door wagon, a 2 door Nomad wagon, and a Sport Coupe hardtop. Other lower models this year were the 150 and the 210 with the Bel Air still on top until 1958 when the Impala was introduced and then in '59 the Impala was the top Chevy. Thanks very much for viewing yet another video of a 1955 Chevy Bel Air.
