Tartuffe is a seventeenth-century comedy by Molière. It is about an impostor, Tartuffe, who tricks the wealthy Orgon into allowing him to become part of his household. Everyone except Orgon and his mother sees through Tartuffe's holy facade as a righteous Christian man, and Tartuffe has some sinister plans of his own. Gardner-Webb's production of the play takes place not in seventeenth-century France but in early twentieth-century France.
