05-18-2016. First time climbing Half Dome. With more "practice", pacing and altitude acclimatization I'm confident I could do it in 10 mins or better. Some chronic plantar fasciitis has slowed down my training the past few months and my conditioning has suffered. I'm used to running at 170 beats per minute and for a few minutes, into the 180s (40 years old) which is why I kept looking at my HR via my watch. Didn't want to get above the 160s for fear of losing my grip on the cables
