Stay pretty and look cool at any cost, don't wear a helmet, be oblivious to the dangers - oh, that is so Thai when it comes to female passengers on the ubiquitous motorcycle taxis that buzz around Bangkok. This was one means of transportation that left me shaking my head as my Canadian "safety first" attitude was at a loss to explain this.
Being a male passenger is not much better but at least there is a lot better balance.
