The Supreme Court's nine justices split 5-4 as they ruled that Donald Trump did have the power to ban travel from a number of majority Muslim countries in one of his most controversial acts. The ruling is a huge boost to Trump. The majority, led by Chief Justice John Roberts, said the Trump administration had 'sufficient national security justification' for the policy, ruling against the challenge brought by the Democratic state of Hawaii's Democratic attorney general. But the five-justice majority cautioned: 'We express no view on the soundness of the policy. We simply hold today that plaintiffs have not demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits of their constitutional claim.'
