Engaging in Argumentation from Evidence - Level 2 - Evaluating Arguments
In this video Paul Andersen shows you how to engage in argumentation in a mini-lesson on evaluating arguments. Two examples are included in the video and two additional examples are included in the linked thinking slides.
TERMS
Argument - a process for reaching agreements about explanations or solutions
Claim - an answer to a scientific question
Data - measurements or statistics used for evidence
Evaluate - to determine the significance of by careful study
Evidence - anything presented to support a claim
Question - a sentence that asks for information
Reasoning - the action of thinking about something in a logical way
