Sorry for the incorrect format of the video, but you can hopefully overlook that mistake! Here's a little video to explain how I rinsed 18 hand-dyed silk scarves after the dye was steam set. Rinsing scarves can be tricky as there is always excess dye that can potentially bleed back onto your artwork during the rinse process. This is especially difficult to handle when you're dealing with high contrast between motif and background colors. The trick is to keep the silk moving in the water so that it never has a chance to fully rest in any type of folded up position in the water, while also using a professional textile detergent. The detergent will help to keep the extra dye suspended off the silk as it rinses out of your piece.
