A German lawmaker who recently returned from a trip to Pyongyang says... North Korean
leader Kim Jong-un is still firmly in power in the North... despite speculation about his health
amid a prolonged break from the public eye.
Arriving back in Germany Thursday..., Hartmut Koschyk also said that... North Korea wants to
boost ties with Germany and the European Union.
He went on to say that... Pyongyang is ready to open dialogue on human rights issues and
inter-Korean ties.
Koschyk added that... he told the North Korean leader that Germany is willing to be an honest
adviser by sharing Germany′s experience as a divided country,... but it cannot act as a mediator
between the two Koreas.
