Beware, "saw" and "so" are pronounced differently!
--
A lot of English learners, especially those who speak Polish or Russian, or other Slavic languages, may pronounce the -aw combination of letters /oʊ/, making "saw" and "so" identical!
But they're not!
The letter combination "aw" is pronounce with a monophthong, meaning a single vowel.
This vowel is often the vowel in "bought", but sometimes is the vowel in "bot" or even in "spa", depending on your accent.
However, it's never pronounced like "oh" /oʊ/, which is a diphthong, a combination of two vowels together!
So next time you see this combination of letters, remember it's one single vowel, not two!
