Get ready for 21st December 2020, when a rare astronomical event will occur in the night sky. The "great conjunction" of the two largest planets of our Solar System, Jupiter and Saturn, will bring them the to only 0.1 degree apart, the closest they've been since 1623, and the closest that can be observed since 1226!

The two planets are bright enough alone to usually be seen by the naked eye, even in built-up areas, so when they combine it will create an extra bright 'star' in the heavens. Due to its proximity to 25th December, many are calling it the 'Christmas Star'.
