•Making your own homemade dried scallops will not only save around 70% on the cost of imported store-bought scallops, but are much fresher, won’t go mouldy & do not contain preservatives.
•I developed this recipe as I could not find anything about making dried scallops online.
•I recommend that you store these bad boys in a zip-lock bag in your freezer.
•You can use bay scallops, baby scallops (Japanese scallops) or even large sea scallops for this recipe.
•Starting with 1kg of frozen scallops, you will end up with approximately 200g of dried scallops.
•To rehydrate, soak dried scallops in a small bowl of warm water or wine, then steam for 30 minutes.
