A historical account of Lothal, Gujarat. We drove to this ancient Indus valley civilization from Dholka, situated in the Saragwala area of Gujarāt, India. The port town is as old as 2500 BC or 4500 years old. Archaeological Survey of India started the excavation in 1955. You can get to know about Lothal's dock—one of the world's ancient ship handling ports; was connected to the Arabian Sea by the old course of the Sabarmati river and channels. Lothal traded copper utensils, jewellery, beads, gems, and tools with Mesopotamia, Africa, and the Persian Gulf. The urban planning and drainage system was very advanced and can match 21st-century technology and know-how.
