The medieval city of Guimaraes is an UNESCO world heritage site. Guimaraes is also the birth place of Portugal. This beautiful city is East Of Porto Portugal. It is about a 30 min drive from Porto International Airport. The best thing about Guimaraes is its people. They are friendly, welcoming and love their city. It's a medieval city including a lot of Roman sites. It's a must visit on your trip to Portugal. This city may be a UNESCO world heritage site, and in some of the older medieval parts, it may look like a museum. But it is a city where people live in. The old medieval homes are homes to people. Guimaraes is also a green city and has been in the top ranks of known green cities in Europe. Guimaraes is also a family city and a very safe city. Im fortunate to be living in Guimaraes. This is my hometown.
