A poem, written by an artificial neural network and recited by the 'Daniel' voice synthesizer in OS X.
The text is uncanny given its content and that it is both read and composed by a machine. Elements of creation, love, death, control and illusion all appear in the work. Themes that are common to Shakespeare and eerily resonant when parsed and performed by an AI: this is why I titled the piece Deus Ex Machina (god from the machine).

This 'author' network was trained for 600 epochs on a corpus of Shakespeare's sonnets.
