The Morgan Silver Dollar was produced from 1878-1904 and then in 1921.
During this short time, it has become in the minds of collectors a must-have coin. Collectors prefer the coins from the 1878-1904 era since they are seemingly hard to get.
The mints produced over 87 million of the Morgan designed coins until the design was replaced in 1921 with the peace dollar.
The coin is named after the English engraver George T. Morgan, the Morgan was the first standard silver dollar since production ceased of the Seated Liberty dollar. The Morgan's contains 90% silver, 10% copper, and weighs approximately 26.73 grams.
