What are fractional exponents? We are all familiar with exponents that are integers, both positive and negative, but what does it mean to have a fraction as an exponent? These are sometimes called rational exponents, and we go over their meaning, their uses, and how to rewrite fractional exponents as roots in today's video math lesson!
The short story is that if we have a number to a fractional exponent, say 125^(2/3), the denominator of the fraction tells us a root to take, and the numerator is left as an exponent. So 125^(2/3) is equal to the third root of 125, all squared. The third root of 125 is 5, and 5 squared is 25, so 125^(2/3) = 25. More details in the full video lesson!

The outro music is by a favorite musician of mine named Vallow, who, upon my request, kindly gave me permission to use his music in my outros. I usually put my own music in the outros, but I love Vallow's music, and wanted to share it with those of you watching. Please check out all of his wonderful work.
