Here for sale we have a Fender American Vintage 1957 Reissue Stratocaster in a classic Black finish. These guitars are designed to recreate the feel of Vintage Fenders without having to pay the premium for a Vintage guitar. This guitar features vintage appointments such as a vintage style neck, with the decal placed over the lacquer (hence the removal of parts of the decal), vintage frets, 7.25” radius and Soft ‘V’ shape. A nitrocellulose lacquer protects the guitar whilst allowing the wood to breathe more than a poly finish.
The guitar has a Soft ‘V’ neck profile and a 1.675” nut width, giving it a vintage feel whilst remaining very comfortable to play. The soft ‘V’ gives just enough of a point to manoeuvre around without being uncomfortable to grip for sustained periods. The 7.25” fretboard radius allows for easy fretting, especially combined with the vintage sized frets.
Tonally, this Strat delivers classic sparkle and twang via the original trio of Fender 57/62 pickups. With staggered, beveled alnico magnets, these pickups are faithful to vintage-spec with black fiber bobbins and push-back cloth-covered leads. The bridge position is spanky and bright while retaining an inherent warmth and sweetness, the "in-between" positions on the five-way switch are all quack and snap, and the neck pickup has the girth, clarity, and bell-like chime that makes it perfect for rhythm work and singing lead lines.
The pots and case candy all point towards this guitar being a 2009 model, however the neck is from 2005. We are happy that the neck is an official Fender ‘57 neck, and our best guess would be that it was swapped by a previous owner, as I doubt Fender would put a 2005 neck on a 2009 model. Fender have been contacted for their thoughts, we have had no reply as of yet.
