Would you like a free children's book every month to read with your child?
Cincinnati Children's is working with two literary agencies: Imagination Library and Reach Out and Read to make that happen.
Any parent or guardian in Ohio with a child under the age of 5 can sign up for free books.
The program allows doctors to prescribe books to families and have them delivered in the mail. The idea is to better prepare children for kindergarten.
Cincinnati Children's researchers say the program is working, with children in the program having shown high kindergarten-readiness scores. And starting kids on track in school can lead to brighter futures.
