Joe Rogan is a certified beast. He has been around some of the greatest MMA champions and striking coaches and they all agree that his Taekwondo kicks the best they've ever seen.
For years, many thought that I had a bias towards Taekwondo. It's simply not true. In fact, I love Taekwondo, it's the first martial art that I deeply appreciated. In the 90s and early 2000s, Taekwondo was very aesthetically pleasing and much more brutal.
There are so many great Taekwondo techniques that have worked throughout historic fights. However, they became less popular for a reason: karate and Taekwondo style fighters were often getting stretchered out of the ring due to Muay Thai style leg kicks.
This is why I featured Muay Thai and Kickboxing beating traditional arts so often. They serve as an important lesson that you must learn textbook Muay Thai and Kickboxing technique before moving forward with side kicks, axe kicks, jumping kicks, and spin kicks.
Without the fundamentals, the chances of any of these techniques working goes way down.
