Kürten's victims ranged from adults to children, and his crimes involved sexual violence and mutilation. He gained notoriety for his sadistic tendencies, often inflicting severe harm on his victims. The press dubbed him the "Vampire of Dusseldorf" due to the brutal nature of his crimes.
In May 1930, Kürten was apprehended by the police and subsequently confessed to a series of murders and attacks. His trial began in April 1931, during which he openly discussed his perverse desires and the details of his crimes. Peter Kürten was convicted of nine murders and seven attempted murders, receiving a death sentence.
On July 2, 1931, Peter Kürten was executed by beheading. His case remains one of the most infamous in criminal history, illustrating the dark and disturbing aspects of human nature.
