Dr. Moore's training began at Brigham Young University where he studied exercise physiology. He receives his doctor of osteopathy degree from Touro University in the San Francisco Bay Area. He completed residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the Ohio University Grandview and his fellowship in joint replacement at the Core Institute in Phoenix, AZ. All in all Dr. Moore had 14 years of training after high school to become the doctor he is today.
Total Knee replacement used to be a painful procedure with a difficult recovery; no more. Muscle sparing techniques and robotics have transformed the procedure. Muscle sparing means preserving the quadriceps muscle in the thigh on top of the knee. This dramatically reduces the pain after the procedure. Less pain means less pain medicine, less narcotics, and lower risk of addiction. The use of robotics starts with a CT scan of the knee before surgery. The robotic reconstruct the CT scan so Dr. Moore knows the exact shape of your knee before surgery. From the scan a 3D model is reconstructed. From the model the perfect sized implants are selected; in addition, the robot allows Dr. Moore to balance the implants by making the perfect cuts in your bone to remove the diseased parts. Robotic assistance allows precise placement of implants.
