Although he hasn't won an event on the Bass Pro Tour yet, Avena has proven to be a serious contender. He finished 12th on the 2021 Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit with two Top 10 finishes and followed that up with yet another 12th-place ranking on the 2022 Bass Pro Tour.
