Brunson could have signed a max contract worth 269 million dollars next summer, but elected to help the Knicks be able to build a better roster, and was willing to leave over 100 million dollars on the table. Jason explained how this move from Brunson allows the Knicks to maintain the flexibility to compete with the Boston Celtics for years to come.
