This is what I learned from reading about chess players:
They win because they are better at anticipating what the opponent will do next
🔐I have been applying this very strategy to Grad School applications for our clients to very very effective results.
➡️ Applying for MS/MBA? Think what Admission Committee wants from you
➡️ Applying for jobs? Think what this employer is looking for etc
It is surprising how many people misunderstand this (I’m guilty of the same in my first time applications).
Most of us give up because we feel our profile is not stellar or we are not the most qualified candidate. Guess what? they are not looking for the most qualified guy.
This is what they are looking for:
📌 Do you look like a person who can become a super successful alumnus tomorrow and donate huge funds back to your alma mater (this university)?
If your application does not position you as this potential successful person, you are NOT going to get in! As simple as that.
Try putting yourself in their shoes and ask yourself - will I admit myself?
You will be surprised how many times the answer to that question is ‘no’.
And if it is no, go and rework on your story and SOP.
✔️SAVE this as a reminder to yourself
This is a topic close to my heart because I want you guys to crack the best university possible. I have a supercharged MASTERCLASS on SOP writing that will cover this in detail. And we will also look at the excerpts from REAL SOPs that got into Ivy Leagues and Top 10 universities like Harvard and CMU.
