This might be Gizele Oliveira's first year walking the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, but she's already proving to be quite the Angel. While filming the show on Monday in Shanghai, China, the model earned her wings by helping a fellow model back up after a pretty big tumble.
During one of the segments, Ming Xi tripped on her outfit's long, gauzy train and fell on her knees on the runway. In a video taken just after Xi's fall and shared to Twitter, the Chinese model stays on her knees and flashes a big smile while she regains her bearings and prepares to stand up. Just in time, though, Oliveira—who was queued up right behind her—saunters up the runway, clapping for Xi as she starts to stand up, then offers her a hand before gesturing for her to keep walking ahead of her.
It didn't take long for Xi to get back up in her thigh-high lace-up stiletto heels, flowery wings, and gauzy overcoat. (Oliveira, meanwhile, wore a black bra, a pile of ornate necklaces, a black, red, and gold miniskirt, and a much shorter puffy-sleeve overcoat that matched her skirt.)
Supermodel Karlie Kloss chimed in on Ms Xi's feed.
She commented under Ms Xi's post: 'You handled that with such grace and elegance. Sometimes you trip and fall but it's how you get back up that matters, and you got up like a champ and owned it. Love you Ming!'
Ms Xi momentarily lost composure as she tripped at the 22nd annual show which was held at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai.
She initially appeared on the runway looking absolutely jaw-dropping, but she was soon dealt with an embarrassing moment as she fell in her vertiginous lace up gold sandal heels.
The raven-haired beauty was seen dramatically falling to the floor, before grabbing onto her statement headgear to avoid further disaster.
With all the excess material, getting up off the floor proved to be quite the challenge for the beauty.
Luckily Ming was able to laugh off the fall as she finally made her way up from the ground.
