Ferrari is no stranger to collector cars, but did you know the Ferrari 250 GTO is arguably the most valuable collector car in the world today? Only 36 examples were built as a homologated vehicle, meaning they were offered to the public so that Ferrari could compete in racing with them. The cars were literally just race cars with just enough upgrades to make them street legal so they were simple with no frills. The demand for them continued to increase throughout the '80s only seeing a downturn in the fuel embargo of the early '90s, but immediately they began to again rise in value. Today the average price of a 250GT sold between 2010 and 2020 is $48 million dollars, with only one being less than an 8 digit figure with no signs of letting up in price. If you're considering a 250GT in your future you better warm up that wallet because it's going to really put down the pain!
