About this video:
The term ‘Muslim woman’ refers to a female adherent of the religion of Islam. As such, Muslim women are expected to follow the core teachings and beliefs of the Islamic faith, which promote the following qualities amongst believers: truthfulness, justice, patience, courage, humility, forgivefulness, trust, purity, and faithfulness. From these core values, many other important qualities are derived such as prayer and charity. Muslim women are expected to live their lives in accordance with these values and teachings.
The most important Islamic teaching that all Muslim women should be aware of is the belief in one God, which is known as ‘Tawhid’. Tawhid is defined as the doctrine of absolute unity of a deity and it forms the basis of the Islamic faith. This means that God is the only deity that should be worshipped and it is important for Muslim women to maintain this concept within their hearts and minds.
Another important teaching to understand is the Quran, which is the primary source of faith for Muslims. The Quran contains many teachings and concepts which are to be obeyed by all Muslims. This includes commandments which relate to justice, philanthropy, and mercy. These values form an integral part of the Islamic faith and it is essential for Muslim women to adhere to these teachings.
Moreover, Muslims recognize the importance of following the examples left by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is important for Muslim women to remember this example and strive to be the best of people in terms of character, knowledge, and piety. This includes following the Five Pillars of Islam, which are testimony of faith, prayer, charity, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and pilgrimage to Mecca.
In addition to these core teachings of the Islamic faith, Muslim women should also strive to maintain an internal system of belief that is based on truth and justice. This requires them to make decisions based on careful consideration of facts, rather than giving in to emotion or short-term gains. Furthermore, Allah’s reminders of faith should be remembered regularly and put into practice in everyday life. This includes bearing witness to the truth, exercising justice with our neighbours, and being sincerely attentive to the chain of command.
Another quality that is essential in the life of a Muslim woman is patience. This involves holding firm to one’s faith despite the hardships and difficulties which may be encountered in life. It also involves exhibiting self-control by refraining from immoderate and unjustified reactions towards any situation or argument.
In addition to the qualities mentioned above, Muslim women should also strive to put Allah’s teachings into practice in their daily routines. This includes reciting the Quran regularly, traveling to the holy cities for Hajj and Umrah, and keeping believers company when they are in distress.
Finally, Muslim women are expected to spread Allah’s message and teachings among the communities around them. This involves spreading the truth of the religion, as well as helping people understand the beauty and living a life according to the teachings. This can be done through various means, such as preaching, teaching, leading by example, and being hospitable to visitors.
Through adhering to the core teachings, beliefs, and teachings of the Islam faith, Muslim women can make an immense contribution to their communities and society at large. By faithfully following these values and living a life of faith, we can strive to be role models for future generations of Muslim women. It is only through these qualities that a Muslim woman can be said to be a true believer in her faith.
