I started with creating what I thought was going to be the official batts but changed gears halfway through and decided to card each fiber type/prep separately so I would have an easy way to determine how much of each needs to go in each final batt. The Texel combed nests were more than my carder could hold, but I managed to cram it all on and I do not recommend overfilling your carder. It was hard to manage the colossal batt later. Combed Texel from the hackle was carded into a batt next and finally the commercial top. Previously, I had carded all the Gulf Coast yellow fleece on an Instagram Live, so I didn't do anything further with that fiber. Each batt was divided into 7 parts, one for each final batt. I then layered the strips interspersed with rainbow firestar and silver angelina. As soon as each batt came off the carder, I ran it through a second time for a complete and fully blended golden pile of ready to spin fluff!
