Very little new condo construction coming to Downtown Vancouver in the next 5 years. The little that is will be luxury condos at an average price of $2000 a sq ft. The rest has now been changed from stratified condo to market rental only buildings. In a nutshell... construction costs and taxes continually going up. More complexity and red tape. Market is chronically under supplied. Minimal new supply makes it hard to ever outstrip demand, means prices will likely continue to go up.
