No, the beaver and otter are not related. The Eurasian beaver (Castor fiber) is a rodent in the taxonomic family Castoridae. The only other living member of Castoridae, and the only other living species of beaver, is the North American beaver, Castor canadensis (Canada's national animal). I know otters like me but I don't want them to be friendly with humans. They must not think everyone is as good as I am, because they are wild otters. If the otters beg for help from others in the mangroves, they can be attacked.
