We've all done it! When buying silver or gold bullion we find that one piece which tickles us in all the right places. When that happens, you might push caution aside and jump right in! If that's the case, you might be over paying for your precious metals simply because you WANT the piece. But you need to ask yourself, is that piece something you really NEED? If so, can you get it for a better price? Chances are, you can!
You need to exercise restraint and composure when looking at silver and gold. This is not an art gallery, this isn't an art collection. This is nothing more then an investment for you and your loved ones future. Silver is Silver and Gold is Gold. Whatever fancy, fun or interesting designs are imprinted on these pieces are irrelevant for the most part.
When the time comes to sell, will you be stuck holding the piece because you over paid or or ignored the premiums? Will you have a hard time letting go of the silver and gold pieces that you "love"?
If you can separate your emotions when buying gold or silver and stick to buying pieces for the metal content, you will be better off in the end. This doesn't mean you shouldn't have fun collecting and stacking silver bullion. But, you should be smart about it because at the end of the day, these are investments. Nothing more, nothing less.
