Ingredients
Tender Jack fruit ( Kathal) pieces - 1.5 cup
Water
Salt
Kashmiri Red chilly powder - 1/2 tbsp
Bird eye chilly - 1
Green chilly - 1 (or as per taste )
Ginger small piece
Corn flour - 2 tsp & Rice flour - 2 tsp
Dark soya sauce - 3/4 tsp ( as per taste)
Homemade tomato ketchup - 1.5 tbsp
Finely chopped garlic cloves - 1/2 tbsp
Roasted white sesame seeds - 1 tsp
Sliced Small onion
Few pieces of sliced capsicum ( I didn't had)
Black pepper powder - 1/8 tsp ( as per taste)
Coconut oil
Finely chopped coriander leaves - 1tbsp
Honey
Method
Grease oil to a vessel & add 2.5 cup water, chopped tender Jack fruit pieces, Salt as per taste, 1/2 tbsp kashmiri red chilly powder. Pressure cook it for 2 to 3 whistles or until tender Jack fruit pieces turns soft.
Switch off the flame. Drain boiled Jack fruit pieces, remove excess water by squeezing Jack fruit pieces.
In a mixer jar, add 4 boiled Jack fruit pieces, 1bird eye chilly , 1 inch ginger piece - coursely grind it. Transfer it to a bowl. Add boiled and slightly mashed tender Jack fruit pieces, 2 tsp corn flour, 2 tsp rice flour, Salt if required.
Combine well & make (1/2 tbsp sized) small balls. Keep aside.
In a kadai, Heat oil & deep fry prepared balls until it turns golden brown colour & crisp.
Prepare sauce
In a kadai, Heat 1.5 tsp oil , add finely chopped garlic cloves, 1/2 inch sliced ginger pieces, green chilly 1 ( as per taste), saute for 1 minutes. Add sliced onion, capsicum pieces ( I didn't had) saute till raw smell goes . Add soya sauce, tomato ketchup, ( corn flour + 1/4 cup water), mix well. Cook on low flame until sauce thickens. Add roasted sesame seeds, finely chopped coriander leaves, deep fried balls. Mix well.
Immediately transfer it to serving plate . Glaze with honey.
